The Oak Tree Racing Association will host the 26th running of the Breeders' Cup World Championships at Santa Anita Park on November 6 - 7, Breeders' Cup. This will be the eighth time the Breeders' Cup has been held in Southern California. Hollywood Park hosted the inaugural Breeders' Cup in 1984 and again in 1987 and 1997. The Breeders Cup has previously been held at Santa Anita in 1986, 1993, 2003 and 2008.

The two-day event will be televised live on ESPN.

Santa Anita will be the first Breeders' Cup site to hold the main track portion of the program on a synthetic surface. The Arcadia track is scheduled to install an all-weather surface, which replaces its dirt track, this summer. Santa Anita is one of the world’s great racing venues, an outstanding facility with a great tradition that will showcase top flight international racing for our fans.

The Kentucky Derby is a stakes race for three-year-old thoroughbred horses, staged yearly in Louisville, Kentucky on the first Saturday in May, capping the two-week-long Kentucky Derby Festival.
